"'Scan-It Toy Security X-Ray Machine' Teaches Children Not To be Afraid"
Wizard Industries, Inc. has announced a new educational aid to make children more comfortable in dealing with our country's need for heighten security. The new "Scan-It Toy X-Ray Machine" is now available through educational resource centers and toy stores nationwide through Wizard's unique - patented - SampleRewards.com.Com system.
Supported by an educational website -
www.OperationCheckpoint.com - the "Scan-It Toy X-Ray Machine" was developed by a mother of three to help children understand and be comfortable when dealing with the often daunting and sometimes even frightening security protocols demanded of us all since 9-11... and sure to be increased since Virginia Tech.
During her divorce proceedings in early 2000 Kathy Arena was confronted daily with having her and children's possessions searched by the courthouse security scanner. Kathy and her young children were understandably intimidated. At first Kathy was angry. But she took the negative - but unavoidable - reality of our need for greater security in public places and turned it into a genuine positive.
Fear is usually based on ignorance. Ignorance is dispelled by knowledge. And the best way to bring knowledge to young children is through play. This simple and honest formula lead Kathy Arena to create the "Scan-It Toy X-Ray Machine" - a constructive, interactive and educational toy that makes the security screening process easy to understand and maybe even fun.
But Kathy needed help to bring her idea to fruition as a viable and marketable product.
Kathy began by sketching out the "Scan-It Toy X-Ray Machine" and preparing her invention to be patented. Once the idea was put to paper and the patent filed, she teamed up - as many successful inventors have - with Julie and Billy Carmen and their manufacturing and marketing entities Wizard Industries, Tohkai Precision and Product Exposure Services, Inc.
A good choice of teammates!
Setting forth to refine Kathy's creation to produce a unique, adventurous, fun and useful product, a collective effort with Wizard Industries was begun to develop the perfect manufacturing and packaging for the "Scan-It Toy X-Ray Machine".
Through the various phases from creating a "patent pending" design to the engineering, prototyping, naming, manufacturing and packaging of the product several revelations occurred. Among the key discoveries were the level of public education relating to children in regard to security screening and scanning equipment. Institutions ranging from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration to municipal agencies and private therapy and counseling institutions having policies and procedures in place addressing the education of children and security screening.
In other words, a real market for the "Scan-It Toy X-Ray Machine" already exists.
Kathy and her Wizard Industries team incorporated security screening education resources into a new web site -
www.OperationCheckpoint.com - to provide an extension of the toy by means of a complete menu of educational resources, including projects, teaching scenarios and other information support to instruct children about security screening. The "Scan-It Toy X-Ray Machine" and the OperationCheckpoint.com web site provide extended use for the toy and its concept of play and education.
"My desire in bringing this product to life is to lessen some of the fear children often suffer in our security conscience society", says Arena. The toy was engineered to be a fun and engaging plaything primarily - fun is always the key to learning with young children - and then as a solid tool for teaching and familiarizing children with today's pervasive security processes.
"Watching Kathy as she progressed through the many phases and trials that take an invention from a bright idea to a worthwhile product has been very enlightening," says Billy Carmen. "She's a remarkable woman. And her 'Scan-It Toy X-Ray Machine' is surely destined to be a successful product. One that both entertains and helps a lot of people... especially children," Carmen adds.
The "Scan-It Toy X-Ray Machine" is now available for only 59.95 at: OperationCheckpoint.com and through select toy and teaching resource stores everywhere through Wizard Distribution, Inc. 866-781-8033
